Using Emy Pump should be comfortable and not painful. To maximize your comfort, it is essential to choose a breast shield adapted to the size of your nipple and to adjust the intensity appropriately.

Emy Pump can be used in a seated or standing position. To install it, position your nipple in the center of the breast shield then install your breast pump in your bra. Emy Pump should be firmly pressed against your breast, with no space between the breast pump and your chest.

Emy Pump has 3 different operating modes to mimic babies' feeding patterns. Generally, this is broken down into two phases: a first faster phase to trigger the ejection of milk (Massage or Stimulation mode), followed by a slower phase when the milk flows (Expression mode).

When starting, Emy Pump always starts with massage mode. This is a faster sucking rhythm to stimulate milk flow. When milk starts to be collected, you can manually switch to expression or stimulation mode by pressing the bottom button. After 2 minutes, the breast pump automatically switches to expression mode.

As soon as you feel that your milk production is slowing down (or every 5 minutes), you can return to massage or stimulation mode (which corresponds to alternating between massage and expression mode) for 2 minutes to trigger a new milk flow.

Because very few women know it, but during a feeding, there are actually several ejection reflexes. When expressing milk with an electric breast pump, it is therefore recommended to maximize the ejection reflexes during pumping. Emy Pump is very easy to clean and maintain. After each use, disassemble the breast pump and rinse all washable parts in cold water then clean them with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry each component before reassembling them.

Make sure to sterilize washable parts regularly and store Emy Pump in a clean, dry place, avoiding humid environments or exposed to direct sunlight.

With a full charge, Emy Pump offers a battery life of approximately 2 and a half hours in standard setting, but this duration may vary depending on different factors such as the suction power chosen or the duration of each pumping session.

After 30 minutes of use, the breast pump stops automatically. To protect the battery of your breast pump if you do not use it for a long period of time, be sure to charge it every 2 to 3 months at least.

To charge the breast pump, plug the USB power cable into the USB-C port on the electronics box and into a 5V, 1A USB charger (not included).

The full charge light will then flash on the Emy Pump screen to indicate charging. When the breast pump is fully charged, the light stops flashing and remains solid.

When using Emy Pump, this same light is displayed on the screen to indicate that the breast pump is sufficiently charged. It can take up to 180 minutes to fully charge Emy Pump.

Have you followed the following charging protocol?

• I charged the breast pump for at least three hours
• I used the cable provided with the case
• I used at least two power adapters and two different wall outlets.
• I tested charging via USB directly on a computer

Please try charging using different outlets and in different ways. We have already found that some power adapters are not powerful enough or defective and do not allow the pump to charge properly. It is also possible that the wall outlet you are using is defective or perhaps too old.

Several reasons may explain why the suction of the Emy Pump is too weak:

• The components are wet : dry all components
• The components are not properly assembled : check that all components are correctly positioned and assembled
• The battery does not have enough power : charge the breast pump for 180 minutes
• The nipple shield is not properly sealed with the collection cup : reposition the nipple shield correctly, ensuring it is fully sealed with the collection cup (no gaps)
• The nipple shield is not pressed enough against the breast : check that the nipple shield is properly positioned and pressed

If the Emy Pump breast pump has no suction, check the following points:

• The valve is missing or damaged
• The diaphragm is missing or damaged

> Reassemble the pump by adding the missing parts or replacing the damaged part

• The connector and diaphragm are not properly positioned or assembled with the collection cup

> Reassemble the pump by pressing the connector and diaphragm firmly against the collection cup

If you have milk leaking from the collector:

• Check that the assembly of the diaphragm, connector and breast shield is tight and that the closing cap is securely closed.
• During pumping, keep the ventilation opening upwards and do not exceed the maximum milk capacity.

Normally your pumping with Emy Pump should allow you to collect the same quantity as with a corded breast pump. If you wish, here are some tips you can try to improve your performance:

- check with our guide that you are using the correct size breast shield. It may be different from the size you use with a wired breast pump because the shape and material of the breast shields is not the same. This is a crucial element to ensure good milk extraction efficiency.

- check theassembly and that all parts are firmly seated to avoid air leaks which can reduce the performance of the breast pump

- try to compress a little more the breast pump in your bra, if you manage to tighten your strap as much as possible so that it is well placed against your chest

- sometimes differences in sucking rhythm or cycle length can disrupt expression. Try changing the modes: there is a first faster phase to trigger the ejection of milk (Massage or Stimulation mode) then a slower phase when the milk flows (Expression mode). As soon as you feel that your milk production is slowing down (or every 5 minutes), you can return to massage or stimulation mode for 2 minutes to trigger a new milk flow.

- you can also try pumping simultaneously with your wired breast pump on one breast and Emy Pump on the other and alternating for several sessions to see if you can get better stimulation. While you get your body used to it, you can also start pumping with the wired breast pump for a few minutes then use Emy Pump to continue pumping and gradually move from one breast pump to another, more and more quickly. Or vice versa, start with Emy Pump then finish with the wired breast pump if necessary to empty your breast.
