Results of the clinical trial relating to the evaluation of the Emy Trainer connected biofeedback probe in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence. 

CONTEXT : The innovative Emy Trainer medical device is an intravaginal biofeedback probe connected to a mobile application. The smart app includes fun exercises based on the PERFECT Scheme medical protocols.

OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY : Evaluate the effectiveness of self-training at home with the Emy Trainer perineal probe on patients suffering from stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

METHODOLOGY: Non-comparative single-center study within the University Hospitals of Strasbourg including 55 patients suffering from SUI (median age: 41 years). Treatment: 5 sessions of 10 minutes of exercises with Emy Trainer per week for 3 months.

EVALUATION CRITERIA
→ Quality of life by the Contilife questionnaire (1)
→ Urinary symptoms by the ICIQ-SF questionnaire (2)
→ Symptoms by the PGI questionnaire (3) 
→ Satisfaction with the use of Emy Trainer (4)

CLINICAL RESULTS

Primary evaluation criterion:
(1) 98% of the 43 respondents had an improvement in their quality of life after 3 months of using Emy Trainer.
Secondary endpoints:
(2) 87% of the 45 respondents saw the frequency and severity of their urinary symptoms decrease.
(3) 91% of patients feel an improvement in their symptoms related to incontinence after 3 months of using Emy Trainer.

(4) A questionnaire of interest was asked of the patients in the study. Here are the results obtained:

CONCLUSION

Regular training of the pelvic floor with the Emy Trainer medical device would significantly improve quality of life and reduce symptoms linked to SUI. The connected and innovative medical device Emy Trainer appears to enable effective self-training at home based on medical protocols and improved treatment compliance.
