"All women should have an Emy Trainer!"

We’ll let you discover Emilie’s story, a dance teacher and Emy user, which will help you understand the importance of pelvic floor retraining. Thank you to our amazing users for sharing their stories on our blog. They help other women take the plunge and start pelvic floor training!

The key points of Emilie’s journey:

  • Overuse linked to intensive sport : As a street dance teacher and mum of two, her pelvic floor is subjected every day to many impacts such as jumps and floor work.
  • Choosing independence at home : Not wanting to commit to long physiotherapy sessions, she looked for an independent solution to strengthen her pelvic muscles.
  • Measurable, fast results : Thanks to the fun biofeedback from the Emy Trainer trainer, her feeling of heaviness and physical discomfort completely "disappeared" in just two weeks.

Why choose the Emy Trainer?

Hello Emilie, could you introduce yourself and explain why you started using Emy Trainer?

I’m a mum of two children (2 and a half years apart) and a street dance teacher, so my sporting activity is fairly intense (lots of floor work, weight-bearing and jumps), and my pelvic floor felt the impact.

After giving birth to my two children, I didn’t have incontinence. However, I felt discomfort in my pelvic floor, so I wanted to strengthen my pelvic muscles to maintain a certain tonicity in everyday life. I didn’t want to go through physiotherapy sessions, meaning 10 pelvic floor training sessions for the first child and 20 for the second. That’s why I thought about buying a pelvic floor trainer.

How is your pelvic floor training going with Emy Trainer?

I’ve been using Emy Trainer for 2 months now. I find it fun, even though I was afraid it might be repetitive because I discovered the app without the trainer at first. I saw that the app only has one game. Today, I use it with the trainer and it goes well, it’s easy to use and, once again, really fun. The first time I used it, I did 10 minutes, but after that, I enjoyed doing several sets of exercises.

I knew these trainers existed, but I didn’t think about buying one because you always think it might not necessarily be for you. I was telling myself, “I’m young and healthy, so is it really for me?”

I discovered Emy Trainer while looking for a pelvic floor app! At first I chose this trainer because my name is Emy and I thought it was funny. Then I read the reviews, I thought the app was well designed, and the website overall reassured me.

Have you noticed the effects of the trainer on your pelvic floor?

Yes, absolutely! At the beginning, I had a feeling of heaviness in my pelvic floor and it was uncomfortable for dancing. I left it for 18 months because it’s complicated to book appointments with physiotherapists when you have children.

Now, the discomfort I had at the beginning has completely disappeared. There’s probably a psychological effect too, because when you train, you feel more relaxed. I tend to do longer sessions, so after 2 weeks I could see that my pelvic floor was already in better shape.

The taboo around urinary leakage

Do you think urinary leakage is talked about enough?

Not at all! My 1st pelvic floor training was different from the 2nd: the first was manual, without a trainer. The 2nd was manual training with a trainer with the physiotherapist (I had changed physiotherapists in the meantime). I don’t think we’re informed well enough at all, it’s a bit of a taboo, people don’t talk enough about pelvic floor training. Healthcare professionals didn’t really talk to me about it at all. After my first pregnancy, the healthcare professional told me there was no need to prepare the pelvic floor. It was the sports physiotherapist who warned me and told me I needed to use the trainer to train it properly.

It’s hugely under-recognised; people have false ideas about what it is. For example, my mum couldn’t tell me about it because she never had training herself.

I knew what the pelvic floor was, but until you give birth you don’t necessarily realise how important it is... It’s once you’ve given birth that you realise it. It was through my job that I learned what the pelvic floor is for.

Emy Trainer, the choice of quality

The women we meet often tell us that Emy is too expensive — what do you think?

Yes, I do think it represents a certain cost, but it’s an investment. I put it into perspective because physiotherapy sessions take a long time, whereas here you can do your pelvic floor training at home, in peace and quiet. The time saved and the quality of the product made me forget the price, and you could also pay in 3 instalments. It’s quite intimate, so I chose to focus on the price and the quality of the product rather than picking a cheaper product of lower quality.

Thank you very much for your answers! One last question: Emy Trainer in 3 words?

Fun, effective and essential. All women should have an Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer!

What to remember from Emilie’s testimony:

  • Essential prevention for sporty women : Even without direct incontinence, high-impact activities such as dance require regular maintenance of the tone of the pelvic floor.
  • The effectiveness of biofeedback: Using the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer turns exercises into a fun, personalised moment, delivering fast results in just a few weeks.
  • An investment in your everyday freedom : Choosing a quality medical device at home helps you free yourself from time constraints and preserve your intimate comfort over the long term.
