Today, it’s Sarah, a 29-year-old mum and regular user of the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer, who has agreed to share her experience with us. Why did you start taking care of your pelvic floor?

I started pelvic floor training with a midwife in January 2018, quite a long time after my first pregnancy, which was in October 2017. I had a drop in my pelvic floor, a loss of tone, and every time I had my period my cup would come out; I didn’t have that problem before pregnancy.

I then did pelvic floor training with my midwife until June 2018, for 6 months, but I didn’t notice any significant improvement. I was advised to have surgery to overcome the problem, but at my age, I didn’t really want to.

How did you find out about Emy?

I started looking for alternative solutions to fix my problem and relieve my symptoms without having surgery. I needed another solution, so I started doing quite a bit of research online. I came across your blog articles on the subject, and that’s where I discovered the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer and thought it was worth at least trying.

What reassured me was that it was and that all the medical standards were in place. I found that more reassuring than other devices I’d seen advertised on social media. The exercises are based on medical protocols and their effectiveness has been clinically tested. These were the main factors that helped me make up my mind. And I really don’t regret my choice; on top of that, delivery was super fast, and I was really eager to start my exercises!

When did the first results appear?

When I tried the device, I immediately noticed changes in the tone of my pelvic floor. The results appeared very quickly, from the very first training sessions. To be honest, I was even a little surprised that it was so fast, but I no longer had any leaks after 2 weeks! To be able to hold my menstrual cup again like before, it took a little longer. I’d say a few months of regular training were needed.

How did Emy Trainer fit into your routine?

I started using Emy Trainer long after my first pregnancy, after pelvic floor rehabilitation with the midwife hadn’t been effective. As I saw results quickly, I kept using it until I became pregnant with my second child.

During my pregnancy, I also did exercises without the device using the “Birth Preparation” programme to give myself the best possible chance.
After my second pregnancy in March 2021, I didn’t even need pelvic floor rehabilitation because my gynaecologist pointed out that I had a strong and healthy pelvic floor !
But as a precaution, and because I didn’t want to go through the problems I’d had after my first pregnancy again, I still did my pelvic floor rehabilitation with Emy Trainer at home.

I trained at a pace of 5 minutes 3 times a week between July and October 2021. After that, I eased off the exercises a little. But today, as I no longer have any urinary leakage issues, I still use the Emy device, just less than before.

I do one slightly longer training session (between 10 and 15 minutes) once a week or every two weeks for prevention. But as soon as I feel my pelvic floor start to loosen, I increase the frequency of the training sessions until I feel comfortable again.

How would you describe Emy?

There are loads of games, personalised programmes, it’s really fun and, above all, super practical! You can do your exercises when you if you want, there’s no need to think ahead or over-organise things, for example by arranging childcare. I like to do my sessions in the evening, once they’re in bed and before I go to sleep. It’s a bit my own little me-time of the day!

Another thing I find really interesting about the Emy solution is that the app is regularly updated. With the latest updates to the Emy app, I saw there was lots of new content and programmes available.

I recently started doing yoga classes. In fact, I’ve already repeated the one for relieving and preventing back pain three times. It was incredibly effective for me! To finish, I’m really delighted and I recommend the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer to those around me because it was a very good experience for me!
