When we are one young breastfeeding mother and you have to return to work, managing your breast pump can quickly become a real headache. This is what Ariane, a young mother and doctor, experienced during her first breastfeeding. She tested different models of breast pumps and agreed to give us his opinion and his feedback on use through this testimony.
Expressing milk: a whole organization!
Ariane is a Corsican general practitioner specializing in women's health. She is currently breastfeeding her first baby, 4.5 months old, and expresses milk regularly. to stock up and anticipate your return to work in a few months.
“At the start of my breastfeeding, I used a classic electric breast pump, the Medela Symphony, which allowed me to express my milk well. But it quickly became very restrictive, I had to remain still and isolated during the sessions. » says Ariane.

“I then wanted to test a portable breast pump model to be able to return to work peacefully. I turned to a connected model that we see everywhere on the networks, but my experience was not very conclusive. »
My opinion on connected breast pumps
Ariane tells us that using a connected breast pump has no not been a great success for her. The experience was even really discouraging : a complicated product to use and learn, very low yields, unresponsive and understanding customer service and above all, design problems quickly disappointed.
“I tried it for quite a while but the breast pump didn't hold in place well because of its curved shape, especially with my small chest. Additionally, there was some play between the motor and the breast pump bottle and they didn't click together very well. I had difficulty getting 20 ml... And what's more, the quantities recorded on the application were completely false. »
My opinion on Emy Pump, the best hands-free breast pump
It was then that Ariane discovered the Emy Pump portable breast pump, a new French product. Already a won over user of the Emy perineal rehabilitation probe, Ariane was immediately seduced by the ergonomic design and the ease of use of the Emy Pump breast pump.

Easy and intuitive handling
“It’s very intuitive, the assembly is super fast, we put it in place and off we go! No need to worry about complex settings. I really enjoyed this ease of use and understanding, which in my opinion, is really the strong point of the Emy Pump hands-free breast pump. Everyone can use it and understand. Whereas for connected breast pumps, I find that they are more complicated to access. When you start out you don't understand much about it, you have to search for information on your own..."
Several sizes of breast shields included
A key element for a successful breastfeeding is to have a suitable breast pump, particularly with a right size breast shield. Ariane unfortunately paid the price for poor sizing with her connected breast pump.
“When I purchased the connected breast pump, I chose the 24 breast shield size, like the one I used on my Medela Symphony. Unfortunately it didn't work and I had to contact the after-sales service to have them send me a new size of breast shield (which you normally have to pay extra for) but without real success... Even with a breast shield size 21, my performance with this breast pump was not better and what's more, it ended up causing me big crevice problems. »
“What I think is great about the Emy Pump breast pump is that there is several sizes of breast shields which are included upon purchase. This allows much more flexibility in use. You can change the size during breastfeeding if necessary, without having to buy an additional piece. »

Ariane was therefore able to find the size ideally adjusted to his chest, allowing her to use her Emy Pump breast pump with a better efficiency.
A perfectly adapted shape and design
Thanks to its round and flat shape, Emy Pump adapts perfectly to its body shape and remains firmly pressed against the chest during sessions.
“I can use it while having dinner with my friends, doing other things, without having to focus on it or look at my phone. From my point of view, this is a real plus for combine breastfeeding and active living. «

Convenient and ultra-fast cleaning
Another significant advantage for this overwhelmed mother: a ultra-fast cleaning which saves him valuable time.
“Once I've finished my draw, it's super quick, you just have to remove the motor housing then wash the few pieces in hot, soapy water and it’s perfect. With my other connected portable breast pump, it was much more difficult. There are more parts to disassemble, assembly is more complicated and takes much longer. ".
I am looking for a practical and discreet breast pump
A hands-free breast pump as powerful as a hospital breast pump
With Emy, the yields of Ariane are also there, equivalents to those of his hospital electric breast pump, with sessions lasting just 15 minutes.

“Going back and forth several times from expression to stimulation mode to trigger a new ejection reflex helped me optimize the quantities printed. And contrary to what we think, it is not because we use a high intensity that we will express more milk. At first I used the maximum intensity but I started to have some pain. Then I noticed that by lowering the intensity to 2 or 3, I pulled just as much and without pain ! »
Easy and discreet use
“I also really appreciated Emy Pump’s autonomy. My sessions last about 15 minutes a day and I could use it easily a week without needing to recharge it. »
In short, an opinion more than positive with only profits for this hands-free portable breast pump!

“I even took it with me on vacation on a sailboat! Between its practicality, its nice look and the fact that it is a French company, I can only recommend it to all mothers who wish to continue breastfeeding and have their hands free ! »
A caring and available team
“And finally, I would say that after giving birth, we find ourselves in a period of great emotional vulnerability and of questions. We are hyper sensitive, a little lost and our body and mind are put to the test. In these moments of fragility, coming across caring people like at Fizimed, who listen and are ready to support you, really makes a difference. considerable difference ! »

“Having experienced it and from my job, I know that breastfeeding, in particular, can be a significant source of stress for a new mother. But when you are surrounded by caring professionals who take the time to guide and support you, it brings a real comfort and helps to overcome difficulties more calmly. »
Today, Ariane no longer uses her corded breast pump and plans to continue expressing her milk with Emy Pump, throughout her breastfeeding period and when she returns to work. A real wind of freedom for breastfeeding women, thanks to this French innovation!

A big thank you to Ariane for sharing her testimony and her opinion on the hands-free breast pump Emy Pump !
