« Mon prolapsus a disparu ! »

“My prolapse is gone!”

Following an delivery, a woman’s pelvic floor is significantly weakened. The weight and passage of the baby place strain on the pelvic floor, which can lead to consequences such as prolapse. Jennifer is affected by this and more specifically suffers from a rectocele. Despite her pelvic floor rehabilitation sessions with a physiotherapist, she wanted to give it her all and decided to buy an Emy device. And she made the right choice, because today her prolapse is gone! Of course, this is not thanks to magic, but to regular pelvic floor training with a healthcare professional, supplemented by home training with the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer

The key points of Jennifer’s journey

  • Managing prolapse after childbirth: A targeted response to pelvic floor weakening and the appearance of a prolapse occurring in postpartum.
  • The contribution of pelvic floor training: Comprehensive support combining professional sessions and personal exercises to optimise pelvic floor training.
  • Muscle stabilisation with Emy Trainer: A simple weekly routine at home thanks to the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer to help ease symptoms.

Avoiding prolapse through pelvic floor training

Can you introduce yourself and explain why you started using Emy Trainer?

I started using Emy Trainer because after giving birth, I had a prolapse. Despite my physiotherapy rehabilitation sessions, I wanted to stack the odds in my favour to regain a toned pelvic floor and continue to train it at the same time at home.

How did your pelvic floor training with Emy Trainer go?

My pelvic floor training with the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer went very well from the start. I didn’t run into any difficulties!

When did you notice the first effects of the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer on your pelvic floor?

It’s a bit difficult to answer this question because I was already being followed by my physiotherapist once or twice a week before that. But after 4 months of physiotherapy sessions and 3 months with the Emy trainer, my prolapse had disappeared! Today, my physiotherapy sessions are over but I continue at least one training session a week with my trainer. As a result, I feel that I have better muscle tone in my pelvic floor and the exercises are easier to do.

Why it’s important to talk about the pelvic floor!

Do you think there is enough awareness about urinary leakage?

It is talked about a little more now than before, but I still think it’s not talked about enough. And yet, you often hear about incontinence products… so only once the problem has become well established.

The women we meet often tell us that Emy Trainer is too expensive — what do you think?

Yes, I do see it as an investment, and I admit that if I hadn’t had my rectocele, I probably wouldn’t have bought it and would have just done my postnatal physiotherapy sessions. The rectocele therefore pushed me to buy the trainer, and today I no longer have it!

What to remember from Jennifer’s story

  • Being alert to postpartum prolapse: Jennifer’s case is a reminder that tissue changes after childbirth can lead to prolapse, a postpartum condition that needs appropriate follow-up to help relieve feelings of heaviness.

  • The value of pelvic floor training as a complement: Jennifer’s dedication shows that combining physiotherapy appointments with independent training maximises the benefits of active pelvic floor training.

  • Maintaining tone with Emy Trainer: By keeping up a session a week at home, she supports her pelvic floor over the long term and maintains muscle strength with the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer.
