«Faire du jogging après avoir accouché n'est plus un problème !»

“Jogging after giving birth is no longer a problem!”

Annika is an active mum, paediatric nurse and running enthusiast (@annigoesrunning). For this determined athlete, the idea of putting her trainers away after giving birth was unthinkable. Aware of the challenges your body faces after baby, she chose the Emy pelvic floor trainer to regain her running feel without compromising her intimate health. She tells us how she balanced intense sport and recovery, so she could get back on the track with confidence.

The key points from Annika’s journey:

  • The challenge of getting back to sport: Finding the joy of jogging again without the uncomfortable strain linked to pregnancy
  • Ambition through play: Turning the demands of pelvic floor recovery into a motivating sporting challenge.
  • Getting back to how it felt before: Running again with ease after just a few weeks of regular training.

Jogging after birth

My name is Annika, I’m a paediatric nurse and mum to a one-year-old boy. As a running enthusiast, my biggest fear after giving birth was that my trainers would end up gathering dust. I knew that to get back on the track quickly, I had to take care of my pelvic floor.

I’d already heard about vaginal balls, but it was when I saw an influencer using the technology of the Emy pelvic floor trainer that I had a real love at first sight moment for the concept.

Sport is vital for me, and I knew that running isn’t always compatible with a weakened pelvic floor without specific preparation. That’s why, as soon as my pregnancy ended, I started my pelvic floor exercises seriously to make my return safe.

My postpartum pelvic floor recovery with Emy: training through play

At first, I had a few worries about inserting the device, but I quickly felt reassured: after giving birth, it’s ultimately no longer an issue! What immediately won me over was the playful side. I love training with the pelvic floor trainer because the time flies thanks to the games in the app.

As a sportswoman, it fuelled my ambition: I’m always looking to beat my scores, which is an incredible source of motivation. The biofeedback gives me instant feedback, helping me check that I’m contracting my muscles correctly. I even felt a bit sore at first, proof that the work goes deep! These postpartum exercises have become an interactive session that I genuinely enjoy.

Concrete results: running “like before”

I’ve been using the trainer for four weeks now, and the changes came very quickly. After about three weeks of use, I noticed a major difference: whereas I used to consistently feel tension after my running sessions, those sensations have completely disappeared.

Last week, when I got back from a jog, I realised with emotion that running had become like before my son was born. That feeling of lightness and security came back thanks to the consistency of my pelvic floor training.

I understood how crucial it is to strengthen this area, especially when you do high-impact sports like jogging or volleyball, which I practised more when I was younger without worrying about the risk of leaking.

What to take away from Annika’s story:

  • Getting physical sensations back on track: By easing post-run tension in just three weeks, pelvic floor training helped Annika regain a smooth, natural stride. It shows that with the right training, running after childbirth can once again feel effortless, "like before".

  • An athlete’s mindset working for your body: By turning her sessions into a fun, interactive challenge, Annika turned a medical requirement into a source of motivation. The Emy trainer helps you move away from “blind” training and gain precision and effectiveness through biofeedback.

  • The confidence to stay active without limits: Beyond immediate recovery, Annika understood the importance of training her pelvic floor for the long term. It’s now her winning strategy for getting back to jogging, volleyball, or any impact sport with complete confidence and no apprehension whatsoever.
