What is the suction strength of Emy Pump?

Emy Pump offers suction power of up to 300 mmHg, similar to hospital-grade breast pumps as well as settings to adapt the speed and pressure to your lactation. It can operate at a rate of 40 to 60 cycles per minute, comparable to the average baby's sucking rate of around 50 sucks per minute.

In addition, Emy Pump offers 3 different operating modes to imitate babies' feeding patterns. Generally, this is broken down into two phases: a first faster phase to trigger the ejection of milk (Massage or Stimulation mode), followed by a slower phase when the milk flows (Expression mode).

Is the Emy Pump discreet and quiet?

Yes. Thanks to its quiet motor and compact design, Emy Pump lets you pump discreetly whether you are at home, at work, or on the go. It fits easily inside your bra, so there is no need to get undressed or hold the pump in place. Since it is wireless, you don't need to be plugged into a wall outlet or connected to an app—leaving your hands completely free to get on with your day!

What is the autonomy of the breast pump?

With a full charge, Emy Pump offers a battery life of approximately 2 and a half hours in standard setting, but this duration may vary depending on different factors such as the suction power chosen or the duration of each pumping session.

After 30 minutes of use, the breast pump stops automatically. To protect the battery of your breast pump if you do not use it for a long period of time, be sure to charge it every 2 to 3 months at least.

How to use a hands-free electric breast pump?

Before each use, wash your hands, place the hands-free breast pump in your nursing bra, and center the breast shield over your nipple to ensure comfort and effective suction.

Start with a frequent stimulation mode at a low suction level, then gradually increase the intensity according to your comfort level. Pumping should never be painful. If it is, check that you are using the correct breast shield size.

After one to two minutes of pumping or as soon as milk begins to flow, switch to expression mode: the suction frequency decreases but the suction is stronger to allow for effective milk extraction.

As soon as breast milk extraction slows down, switch your pump back to stimulation mode to trigger a new let-down reflex and maximize your milk production.

The average duration of pumping is between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the woman, and the amount collected varies greatly depending on the context (exclusive pumping, pumping between feedings, etc.).

As a childcare assistant and lactation professional, I tested this breast pump and it perfectly meets my expectations. What I loved: - All the accessories included: the real highlight is the number of inserts provided in addition to the basic breast shield (28 mm), which allows for a perfect fit for every body type. The storage cap and strap extension are also real pluses. - Performance and ergonomics: it is very lightweight with excellent battery life and 9 intensity levels for customised pumping. - Discretion: it is very quiet and the size of the collection cup is just right. Admittedly, there is no carrying case or power adapter (only the USB-C cable provided, which is standard nowadays), but this does not detract from the quality of the product. I would definitely recommend it to the mums I work with.

I bought two portable breast pumps. They are super efficient, compact, easy to carry, charge, use and clean. Clearly, they are the perfect ally for breastfeeding when returning to work. I bought a similar one from a competitor for my second child. One alone cost more than the two Emy pumps, and they were designed to last for only 500 pumping sessions... which you quickly reach when you work full-time and your baby is in childcare 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.
