sexualité épanouie après rééducation du périnée

The Emy Trainer probe allows you to live your life to the fullest as a woman

For Isabelle, pelvic floor recovery has not only been effective in reducing her urinary leakage. It is so much more than that. Isabelle has fibromyalgia, a syndrome characterised by constant widespread pain, fatigue and chronic atony that affects between 2 and 5% of the French population. Through her story, Isabelle wants to show that pelvic floor training is a conscious daily practice. Thanks to Emy Trainer, she has been able to regain a toned pelvic floor, her sexuality, become aware of her femininity and be independent in her life as a woman.

The key points of Isabelle’s journey:

  • Turning down surgery: Faced with a surgical option, Isabelle chose an active, natural approach to treat her prolapse.
  • A whole-body impact: Beyond leakage, training helped restore her relationship life and her self-awareness as a woman.
  • Measurable progress: By improving from tone 1/5 to 3/5 thanks to Emy Trainer, she proves that persistence pays off, even after 50.

Why use Emy Trainer?

Hello Isabelle, can you introduce yourself and explain why you started using Emy?

Hello, I’m Isabelle, I’m 55 and I have two children. I started experiencing urinary leakage incidents around the age of 40 when I was doing sport. Shame, a lack of awareness about this intimate area of my body and about the available solutions for regaining full bladder control led me to give up sport.

My gynaecologist prescribed around twenty pelvic floor training sessions, but that was far from enough. Over the 10 years that followed, urinary leakage got worse.

And that had an impact on my relationship and on my social fulfilment. I still didn’t understand the role of the pelvic floor in sexuality, and my gynaecologist had never discussed this topic with me.

Later, I was told that I had fibromyalgia. It’s a syndrome that affects, among other things, the muscular system, including the pelvic floor. This condition is still little known, even though it is increasingly discussed in the media and in medical schools.

It’s a factor that reduces the tone of the urogenital system. We don’t talk enough about this syndrome, and that’s a real shame.

Pelvic floor training before considering surgery

In this context, at 50, my gynaecologist referred me to surgeons for sling surgery and for the treatment of a prolapse.

I didn’t want surgery, so I decided to take matters into my own hands proactively. I had manual pelvic floor training sessions with a midwife, who made me aware of my pelvic floor. That was a key step. This pelvic floor, which lacked tone, affected my social life because of urinary leakage but also had an impact on my intimate life, reducing my sex life to nothing.

Then my gynaecologist prescribed me an electrostimulation device and then training sessions with a physiotherapist. After my last session in September, I did some research online to discover the different solutions for pelvic floor training with a trainer. I needed to go through training sessions with healthcare professionals to realise that it was no longer enough.

I was really won over by the Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer because I could train my pelvic floor at home, get fun progress tracking, visible in real time in the app, and enjoy how easy it is to use. But above all, I was able to read excellent advice on your site, not only about training but also about femininity and different aspects of women’s lives. Being aware of the health of your pelvic floor, but also of your femininity, is extremely important.

Pelvic floor training with Emy Trainer

How is your pelvic floor training with Emy Trainer going?

It’s going really well. After a personalised diagnosis, the app recommended the intensive programme for me. It’s a daily programme of just 20 minutes, which helps me stay consistent. When I reach my goal, I’ll be able to continue using the trainer for maintenance sessions, a few days a month.

Since using it, have you noticed any changes in your pelvic floor?

Yes, absolutely! I can see that progress in the app tracking, but also in real time as I do the exercises. It’s so motivating! I keep a record of my progress and I can show it to my gynaecologist. In fact, she could easily give me a personalised exercise programme to do on Emy. A feature is planned for that.

In terms As a result, I had really struggled with the speed exercises — the ones where you contract and relax the pelvic floor quickly. After just 2 months of use, I can see a clear improvement. Your advice has also helped me a lot, like in your article on everyday movements: turning your head to the side and leaning it when you sneeze or cough to reduce the pressure on the pelvic floor. It works really well and it’s more discreet and effective than squeezing your legs together!

The Emy Trainer pelvic floor trainer helps me a lot, as do your daily tips that appear at the end of the training session and are invaluable support and help. I find the information I need there.

Can you tell me more about these changes?

I recently saw my gynaecologist for a pelvic floor assessment. She found that there had been major improvementPelvic floor tone is measured on a scale of 5. Before my rehabilitation with a physiotherapist, I was at 1. After a year, I was at 2, and now that I use Emy Trainer, I’m at 3 out of 5! My goal is to reach 4 this year.

The role of the pelvic floor in sexuality: a taboo subject?

Do you think enough is said about urinary leaks?

Not at all. It’s really a taboo subject, just like prolapseSexual pleasure is one too, and I regret that my gynaecologist, who has been looking after me for more than thirty years, never mentioned to me the impact that a toned pelvic floor could have on my sex life.

Urinary leaks are visible, and they’re embarrassing. Then you know your pelvic floor isn’t toned enough. But a lack of sensation during intimate moments isn’t always something you notice. If your partner doesn’t dare to talk about it either, you have no idea and you let the relationship deteriorate! You can tell that something isn’t right, so you start questioning yourself. You don’t realise that simple pelvic floor rehabilitation can make a positive difference for you and for your partner.

I now think that many relationships would last if women were aware of the importance of pelvic floor tone in their intimate relationships. Pelvic floor rehabilitation can bring your sex life back to life! It’s never too early.

From now on, I talk about it around me. My daughter-in-law has just given birth to my grandson. I immediately told her to take good care of her pelvic floor. Not just after childbirth, but throughout her life, to maintain its full functionality. Both for your health and your relationship.
