Following a childbirth, the woman's perineum is greatly weakened. The weight and passage of the baby stress the pelvic floor, which can lead to consequences such as prolapse. Jennifer is suffering from this and more precisely suffers from rectocele. Despite her perineal rehabilitation sessions with a physiotherapist, she wanted to try everything and therefore decided to buy an Emy probe. And she did well because today her prolapse has disappeared! Obviously, it is not thanks to magic but to a regular perineal rehabilitation with a healthcare professional, supplemented by a home rehabilitation with the Emy probe.
Avoiding prolapse thanks to perineal rehabilitation
Can you introduce yourself and explain to us why you started using Emy?
I started using Emy because after my delivery I had a prolapse. Despite my rehabilitation sessions at the physiotherapist, I wanted to put all the chances on my side to regain a toned perineum and continue to work on it at the same time. at home.
How did your perineal rehabilitation go with Emy?
Perineal rehabilitation with Emy probe went very well from the start. I didn’t encounter any difficulties!

When did you notice the first effects of the Emy probe on your perineum?
It's a bit complicated to answer this question because I was followed by my physiotherapist once or twice a week already before. But after 4 months of physiotherapy sessions and 3 months with the Emy catheter, my prolapse was gone! Today, my physiotherapy sessions are over but I continue to do at least one session per week with my probe. So, I find that I have a better tone at the level of my perineum and the exercises are done more easily.
The importance of talking about the perineum!
Do you think we talk enough about the problem of urinary leakage?
We talk about it a little more now than before but I think we don't talk about it not yet enough. However, we often hear about urinary protection... so only once the problem is well developed.
The women we meet often tell us that Emy is too expensive, what do you think?
Indeed, I find that it is an investment and I recognize that if I had not had my rectocele, I probably wouldn't have bought it and I would just have done my postpartum physiotherapy sessions. The rectocele therefore pushed me to buy the probe and today, I no longer have it!
